NOTICE OF THE PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD AND SUBSEQUENT PUBLIC HEARING

ORLANDO HOUSING AUTHORITY
MOVING TO WORK PLAN FOR FISCAL YEAR 2025/YEAR 14
(APRIL 1, 2025 TO MARCH 31, 2026)

The Orlando Housing Authority (OHA) is seeking public input on the Moving to Work (MTW) Fiscal Year (FY) 2026/Year 15 Plan and RAD Significant Amendment. The Plan describes OHA's MTW Program activities designed to (1) increase self-sufficiency among families served, (2) reduce costs and achieve greater cost-effectiveness in Federal expenditures, and (3) increase housing choices for low-income families. The Plan delineates implementation strategies and time frames for proposed and approved activities and uses of MTW funds from April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026. The Plan also includes information regarding OHA's possible use of several available public housing redevelopment options, including the Choice Neighborhoods Initiatives and Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD)/ Section 18 Construction Blend.

The public comment period will begin Tuesday, September 3, 2024, and end Thursday, October 17, 2024. OHA will conduct a public hearing at the OHA's Administration Office, 390 N. Bumby Avenue, Orlando, Florida 32803, on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. The OHA's Board of Commissioners will receive verbal and written comments on the Plan. A copy of the MTW FY2026/Year 15 Plan will be available for review starting Tuesday, September 3, 2024.

For anyone who wishes to provide public comment, please fill out the Public Appearance form before the public hearing meeting by following the steps below:

  1. Visit the Orlando Housing Authority registration form here.

  2. Fill out the form and hit "SUBMIT" when finished.

  3. Participate in the public hearing meeting via video conference on October 17, 2024. OHA will send you an email invite to join the conference. Please make sure you provide OHA with your correct Email address.

  4. The Board Chair will announce your name when it is your turn to speak. There is a three (3) minute limit for public comment.

Public participation in the process is encouraged. Attendance at the public hearing is not mandatory. All oral and written comments submitted by the close of the comment period will be considered. No comments will be considered after the close of the comment period.
