Q: How can I check the status of my application?
A: To check the status of your preapplication, you will use OHA's Applicant Portal. The Applicant Portal can be accessed from the Orlando Housing Authority's website.
To create an Applicant Portal account:
- Click on the "Create Account" link.
- Complete the required information for the Head of Household. Please enter the same date of birth, SSN, and last name you used in your pre-application.
- Enter the verification code.
- Click on the "Create Account" button.
After successfully creating an account, you can log in and check the status or maintain your application information.
Application Statuses are:
- Preliminary: This means your pre-application is Active
- Withdrawn: This means your pre-application is Withdrawn
Q. How do I reset my portal password?
A. Orlando Housing Authority staff will need to reset all Portal passwords. Please email Orlando Housing Authority with your name, date of birth, last four digits of your SSN, email address, and phone number. The Orlando Housing Authority staff will email your username and temporary password. You can change the temporary password upon login.
Q. Who do I contact if I have questions about my application?
A. After you check your application in the Applicant Portal and you have additional questions regarding your pre-application, please email Orlando Housing Authority.
Q. When will I get selected for housing?
A. Waiting time differs for each applicant and is based on qualifying local preferences and bedroom size. Wait time cannot be determined. You will receive a notice via email once your name approaches the top of the waiting list.
