NOTICE OF THE PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD AND PUBLIC HEARING
ON THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA (SHA)

MTW SUPPLEMENT FOR THE TWELVE MONTHS BEGINNING JULY 1, 2024, AND THE PHA FIVE-YEAR PLAN AMENDMENT

COMMENT PERIOD APRIL 10, 2024, THROUGH MAY 28, 2024

The Housing Authority of the City of Sanford, Florida, hereinafter referred to as the "Sanford Housing Authority" or "SHA," is seeking public input on the Moving to Work (MTW) Supplement for the twelve months beginning July 1, 2024, and the PHA Five-Year Plan Amendment. The SHA submitted its PHA Five-Year Plan for FY 2020-2025 to the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in May 2020. The Five-Year Plan addresses the SHA's long-term mission, goals, and objectives for the five years from July 1, 2020, to June 30, 2025. SHA holds a public comment period and public hearing for the MTW Supplement and the PHA Five-Year Plan Amendment. The SHA amends the PHA five-year plan to include: "SHA may convert Public Housing to the Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) platform, Streamlined Voluntary Conversion or another applicable HUD repositioning platform."

The Public Comment Period on SHA's MTW Supplement for the twelve months beginning July 1, 2024, and the PHA Five-Year Plan Amendment will begin Wednesday, April 10, 2024, and conclude Tuesday, May 28, 2024. SHA will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the City of Sanford Police Headquarters, 815 Historic Goldsboro Boulevard, Sanford, FL 32771.

For anyone who wishes to provide public comment, please fill out the Public Appearance form before the board meeting by following the steps below:

  1. Visit the Orlando Housing Authority website at Orlandohousing.org/boardmeetingform
  2. Fill out the form and hit "SUBMIT" when finished.
  3. Participate in the public hearing meeting via video conference on Tuesday, May 28, 2024. OHA will send you an email invite to join the conference. Please make sure you provide OHA with your correct Email address.
  4. The Board Chair will announce your name when it is your turn to speak. There is a three (3) minute limit for public comment.

Public participation in the process is encouraged. There will be no in-person attendance at the hearing. All oral or written comments submitted by the close of the comment period will be considered. No comments will be considered after the close of the comment period. Persons interested in participating in the public hearing via Microsoft Teams should call the OHA at (407) 895-3300, ext. 1004, before 4:00 p.m. Friday, May 24, 2024.
