NOTICE OF THE PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD AND SUBSEQUENT PUBLIC HEARING

ORLANDO HOUSING AUTHORITY
MOVING TO WORK PLAN FOR FISCAL YEAR 2025/YEAR 14
(APRIL 1, 2024 TO MARCH 31, 2025)

The Orlando Housing Authority (OHA) is seeking public input on the Moving to Work (MTW) Fiscal Year (FY) 2025/Year 14 Plan. The Plan describes OHA's MTW Program activities designed to (1) increase self-sufficiency among families served, (2) reduce costs and achieve greater cost effectiveness in Federal expenditures, and (3) increase housing choices for low-income families. The Plan delineates implementation strategies and time frames for proposed and approved activities and uses of MTW funds for the period of April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025. 

The public comment period will begin Wednesday, August 16, 2023 and end Thursday, September 21, 2023.  OHA will conduct a public hearing via video conference, Thursday, September 21, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.  The OHA's Board of Commissioners will receive verbal and/or written comments on the Plan. 

A copy of the MTW FY2025/Year 14 Plan is available for review commencing Wednesday, August 16, 2023, on the MTW page and at the addresses listed below (10:00am through 4:30pm Monday through Friday):

There will be no in-person attendance at the hearing. Persons interested in participating in the public hearing via Microsoft Teams should call the OHA at 407.895.3300, ext. 1004 before 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 20, 2023. If you are hearing or speech impaired, you may reach this extension by using the Florida Relay Service at 1.800.955.8771 (TDY) or 711. Language translation will be provided upon request.

Public participation in the process is encouraged. All oral and/or written comments submitted by the close of the comment period will be considered. No comments will be considered after the close of the comment period.

For anyone who wishes to provide public comment, please fill-out the Public Appearance form before the board meeting by following the steps below:

  1. Visit the Orlando Housing Authority website at: https://www.orlandohousing.org/boardmeetingform
  2. Fill-out the form and hit "SUBMIT" when finished.
  3. Participate in the board meeting via video conference on September 21, 2023. OHA will send you an Email invite to join the conference. Please make sure you provide OHA with your correct Email address.
  4. The Board Chair will announce your name when it is your turn to speak. There is a three (3) minute limit for public comment.
